"Center Stage" & Tech Rehearsal

Last night, I spent a few minutes on Bradford Cummings' "Center Stage" radio show. Above is a pic he was gracious enough to take with me (thanks, Dewey). I didn't find out until later that it was Bradford's last show on WKJK; he's looking for a new radio home, and I hope he finds one.

I drove from the radio station down to the Rud for our first tech rehearsal. Things went well; not only have Mike and Tiffany done a fantastic job, but the other actors and plays are very good. My only quibble is with our setting -- I wish we had a more park-like bench and garbage can for Donner but with low budget community theater, you embrace what you can get.

Except as a spectator, my work with the play is now over. I'm leaving it in Sight and Sound's capable hands from this point out, and won't see the actors again until opening night this Saturday.

Teaching begins a week from tomorrow, with PD days starting this Friday. I plan on posting something after the play festival is over (hopefully with a pic or two), but after that, my posting frequency will definitely decrease.

Come to the Rud! See you there.

Radio Appearance Monday, August 7

Our final regular reheasal was last night. It went well. Next week we have two tech rehearsals and the show goes on stage a week from Saturday.

Tomorrow is Ayla's birthday! Gotta keep the blog short so I can start getting things ready for her party.

As part of the show's publicity, I'll be appearing live on "Center Stage with Bradford Cummings" on WKJK, 1080 AM. The show is this Monday, August 7, at 7:00 pm. Mr. Cummings and I share a connection, although we haven't met before; he has been involved with Pet-Fish Productions, the same group that produced the first staging of A Richard Donner Heaven in 2004. Small world, indeed....
